Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture will be devoted to the theory of finite-dimensional vector spaces. The material covered will include the following objects and their properties: vector space, basis, dimension,
linear map, matrices, determinants, system of linear equations.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Linear algebra is an important foundation of modern
mathematics and a thorough understanding of its notionsand results is a prerequisite for any further study of mathematics.

Examination topics

The lecture should be accessible to anyone who graduated from grammar school/high school. However, attending the introductory lecture
"Einfuehrung in das mathematische Arbeiten" is highly recommended.
