Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To extract substantial insight from mathematical models in physics, astronomy, meteorology and geophysics one has to go beyond the mere application of ready-made recipes. This requires a so-called working knowledge of
fundamental real analysis and its methods. The aim of this lecture course (combined with the introductory seminars [problem sessions]) is to enable the students to independently apply their acquired knowledge and skills of mathematical analysis later on in their future studies and career.
