In this field course our study objects range from oligotrophic and dystrophic pre-alpine lakes over ponds and pit mosses to running waters and groundwater bodies. Based at Lunz Biological Station, the limnology of a wide range of water types can be conveniently studied. Introductory lectures provide insight into geology, landscape ecology, abiotic and biotic interactions, measuring and sampling techniques as well as identification of algae, macrophytes, aquatic invertebrates and fish. In the lab, samples are analysed and identified and field data (e.g. light curves, limnochemical and hydraulic data) processed and discussed.
Evaluation: written summary.
