In this course the students learn practically how to make relevees in the field. It takes place in the "Ötschergräben", a large gorge close to Wienerbruck in the Limestone Prealps of Lower Austria, where a number of very different vegetation types are present: rock and scree vegetation as well as different forest types. This diversity of vegetation types gives the students the chance to experience relevee making under very different conditions. The whole course lasts for one week preferably in June. Utilization and interpretation of the data and the production of a report are subject of the second part of the course in the following winter semester.
