Aims, contents and method of the course

ECTS: 1.0
Contents: basic knowledge of PC hardware, operation system MS-Windows (including networking); use of standard software (word processing, database applications, spreadsheets, presentation software; each aspect with special attention to scientific content), dedicated software (e.g. "ISIS/Draw": creation/editing of chemical structure formulae; "Spezialitäten-Informations-System": an Austrian drug database for pharmacies; basic principles of "Molecular Modelling" on a PC); various programs for display and processing of spectroscopic data; Internet skills (e-mail, WWW, FTP, telnet, Usenet); security aspects

Preconditions: none; attending the lecture "EDV für Pharmazeuten" is highly recommended
