This seminar which will be held in English aims at providing an overview on the impact of whole genome, transcriptome and proteome analyses on microbiology. Each participating student will be asked to present an extended summary of distributed literature on a selected topic in microbial genomics. Topics covered will range from genomics of environmentally relevant organisms to genomics of medically important bacteria. Evolutionary and functional implications inferred from comparative genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics will be discussed for the respective organisms.
