Die Lehrveranstaltung dient der interdisziplinären Integration der humanwissenschaftlichen Fachdisziplinen auf ihre gemeinsamen Grundlagen, der philosophischen Ergänzung der auf den Menschen gerichteten naturwissenschaftlichen Fragestellungen sowie der grundsätzlichen Auseinandersetzung über wissenschaftliche Menschenbilder. Sie soll die TeilnehmerInnen befähigen, Grundmuster in der zeitgenössischen gesellschaftlichen Diskussion über die Zukunft der Humanwissenschaften identifizieren und analysieren sowie theoretische und praktische Inhalte dieser Diskussion auch auf ihre philosophischen Hintergründe hin betrachten zu können.

The lecture - third and last part of the threefold series - gives first a short summary of the main positions of philosophical anthropology in the 19th and 20th century. Secondly, it outlines the main positions of philosophical anthropology at the beginning of the 21 st century, regarding the Anglosaxon World, Europe and the East. Among them, there are the contributions of Ken Wilber and his predecessors and of parts of current Indian philosophy. 80th are connected by their questioning of the possibility of a new total image of the human being as a whole (body - soul - mind - spirit) and the beginning of a systematical mutual exchange. Third, these positions will be connected to same of the main debates in current science and society on the future of the human being and of humanism, among them the so-ca lied "Sloterdijk-Debate" and the so-ca lied "Sokal-Debate".
