980018 TS Self presentation and communication for scientists (2010S)

The main goals of this workshop are using self-marketing in a well-aimed and confident way, becoming aware of one's own strengths and employing them strategically, preparing presentations, lectures and public appearances ideally, in order to be successful and convincing in any of these activities. The course content is made up of preparation techniques, planning public appearances, exercises for putting communication goals into practice as well as the use of visual devices. We will focus on body language as well as spoken language. Beside theoretic input and mutual discussion video analysis and personal feedback offer the possibility to determine a person's own strengths and develop concrete action plans.
