After completing the course the students will be able to:identify and discuss different processes of urban change in terms such as urbanization, history, politics, economy, city planning, culture, geography, sustainable development and social change.Describe how global trends can be more explicit in some cities than others and give
examples of processes of glocalizationAccount in general terms for key concepts such as the global city; the world city; the modern city;the sustainable city; and the;network cityConceptualize the various functions of cities, both in themselves, and in the global
economy, as well as to know the different groups that inhabit citiesBe aware of forms of urban inequality both within cities and between them.
Be familiar with the roles of urban planners and designers in improving urban areas.
Identify the factors that help to shape city growth, as well as decline, in a historical context
