Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Course objectives:- To understand/revisit the basic principles of mass spectrometry
- To understand the working principles of the main mass spectrometers, including Orbitrap FTMS
- To understand the main MS-based approaches in the analysis of small molecules, either isolated or present in complex mixtures
- To understand the main MS-based approaches in the analysis of large molecules, including peptides and proteins, either isolated or present in complex mixtures
- To get the hands-on experience in peptide sequencing
- To discuss the current MS-based applications in (bio)chemistry and life sciences
