Examiners

Information

Examination topics

Examination material is the content of the course and is queried in a modular manner according to the structure of the VL. All examiners are asked about the general part "Algae in the different types of water" (Modul_1, 1st third of the exam questions). In Module_2, the topic "Algae and Nutrients" (Module_2A) or "Algae and Pigments" (Module_2B) can be selected individually (2nd third of the exam questions). Furthermore, in Module_3 students can choose between the topic "Influence of climate change on bodies of water and algae" (Module_3A) or "Assessment of water quality according to the Water Framework Directive" (Module_3B) (3rd third of the examination questions). The exam requires to formulate coherent thoughts on the three modules, e.g. to justify the value of a textually given true or false statement, to discuss examples, to explain given graphics or to fill in words into gaps in the text.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination or, if individually agreed as a digital course, alternatively orally online.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The attendance at the lecture room is beneficial but not necessary as a comprehensive handout including voice recordings is available in Moodle. Slides that are particularly important in terms of content are marked in color (blue point) as “key topic slides” during the VL. The query of individual modules during the exam (Modul_1 plus Module_2A OR _2b plus Module_3A OR _3b) enables the students to set individual priorities with regard to exam preparation.
