Research interests: Ottoman and Turkish cultural history, Ottoman literature, gender in the Ottoman Empire, Turkey in Film, non-Muslims in the Ottoman Empire, memory cultures in Turkey, perceptions of the Ottoman Empire and Turkey in the West.
